Contribution Type | |
Volume, Issue, Pages | 295-299頁 |
Details | This article examines EFL learners' and English teachers' criteria of dictionary choice referring to the results of the two previous researches on dictionary use. The main findings are that recommendation of English teachers was quite influential when the learners bought the present English-Japanese dictionary, and that both teachers and learners emphasized the number of entries such as words and example sentences when they would buy another one. In addition, the followig tendencies were obserbed: The teachers needed more user-friendly perspectives, and the learners might be affected by its popularity rather than its usability. Based on these results, the role for English teachers to play in choosing the appropriate dictionaries for EFL learners is discusses. |
