| Details | The reading of three consecutive ellipsis periods, meaning "passage of time," was analyzed. The tone immediately preceding the ellipsis period was falling in the first place, but in the second and third places, the level tone was more frequent than the falling tone was more frequent. Although most of the informants used pauses for the symbols, the length of the pauses was found to vary greatly among individuals. |
