Details In this study, the learning effects of one year of presentation activities and the relationship between the presenters’ beat gestures and fundamental competencies for working persons as defined by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry were investigated. First of all, presentation class learners had higher average scores than usual class learners in writing tests as well as in marksheet tests. Secondly, it was found that beat gesture presenters were more active than non-beat gesture presenters. They had a significant awareness of cooperating with others and were more disciplined in group activities.
