Details | The effectiveness of word list learning and flashcard learning on junior high school students was investigated. The results showed that flashcard learning was significantly more effective than list learning for new word memory retention. In addition, the efficiency of three different presentation methods of flashcard was investigated. First, showing Japanese to English, then English to Japanese, and finally both randomly were analyzed. Although results showed no significant difference in any of the learning groups with respect to the presentation order, the presentation method using Japanese to English was the most effective. Therefore, the reason for its effectiveness is discussed in this study. |
