Details Following the conceptual foundations of technology adoption model such as these, this research uses “Big-Five factor structure” (Goldberg, 1990) of personal traits as an additional determining factor. Observations are made over the responses of questionnaire surveys among undergraduate level students. The newly introduced VC is considered as new IT. From TAM and UTAUT, newly introduced IT are accepted by the users through following certain paths. Whether TAM and UTAUT model can be applicable to VC is first checked. Secondly, chi-square analysis is conducted in order to find the determining factors of Big Five personality traits are effective, or not.
This study illustrates the preliminary findings about how and why VC in Japanese market indicates a peculiar characteristics. Thusly, it intends to serve as a basis for a further investigation about the adoption to VC by Japanese users.
